Hate evil, love good;
    maintain justice in the courts.
Perhaps the Lord God Almighty will have mercy
    on the remnant of Joseph.

Amos 5:15

Those of us who are perfectionist, tend to perceive the world in extremes. We often feel like we are superhuman, and able to take on anything. There usually is a point where the flaw is exposed, then we descend from grace, crashing down and consider ourselves completely worthless. This “all or nothing” way of thinking is very dangerous to the process of one’s recovery.

My prophecy is among the great acknowledgments of God; if anyone had a reason to feel superhuman, it is me. My supplication brings a lengthy drought upon the world, and later it brought fire down from heaven, humiliating the wickedness of others and the priest of evil. But even I could have a bad day, we have to consider my reaction after being threatened by a whore. “I have had enough, Lord.” I explained, “Take my life.” I have zealously served the Lord God Almighty, but the people of creation have broken their covenant with you, torn down your altars and killed everyone of your servants. I am the only one who remains and now they’re trying to kill me too. Then God told me that there were 10,000 others in creation who have never bowed down to evil or kissed him like me. If you were all perfectionist, you may think that you are above everyone else. You all work very hard to please God and other people, but you can grow dangerously discouraged. If things don’t seem to work, this tendency is something for you all to watch for while working on self-progression. If you do not allow yourselves to be less than perfect you may find that you are at great risk when life reminds you that you are only human after all.

I saw the Lord standing by the altar, and he said:

“Strike the tops of the pillars
    so that the thresholds shake.
Bring them down on the heads of all the people;
    those who are left I will kill with the sword.
Not one will get away,
    none will escape.
