For this is what the Lord says: ‘I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends; with your own eyes you will see them fall by the sword of their enemies. I will give all Judah into the hands of the king of Babylon, who will carry them away to Babylon or put them to the sword. I will deliver all the wealth of this city into the hands of their enemies—all its products, all its valuables and all the treasures of the kings of Judah. They will take it away as plunder and carry it off to Babylon.

Jeremiah 20:4-5

So, then I explained to the king to go get something to eat and drink, for I hear a mighty rain storm coming. So, the king went to eat and drink, but I climbed to the top of the mountain and bowed low to the ground and prayed with my face between my knees. Then I said to my servant, “Go and look out forward, to see the servant’s tent.” I looked, then he returned to me and said, “I didn’t see anything” 10 times. I told him to go and look; finally the 10th time my servant told me, “I saw a little cloud about the size of a man’s hand rising from the sea.” Then I shouted, “Hurry to the king and tell him ‘climb into your chariot and go back home.’ If you don’t hurry, the rain will stop.” And soon, the sky was black with clouds. A heavy wind brought a turbulent windstorm, and the king left quickly for creation. Then the Lord gave special strength to me. I tucked my right cloak into my belt, and ran ahead of the king’s chariot, all the way to the entrance of creation.

Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing
    without revealing his plan
    to his servants the prophets.
