Exemplifying Love and Pride through Leadership

Pentecost by Jean II Restout

Make room for us in your hearts. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have exploited no one.  I do not say this to condemn you; I have said before that you have such a place in our hearts that we would live or die with you.  I have spoken to you with great frankness; I take great pride in you. I am greatly encouraged; in all our troubles my joy knows no bounds.

2 Corinthians 7: 2-4

There can be no light without dark, no awareness without distress, no doubt without faith, and certainly no righteousness without wickedness. I am essence, and essentially recognizing evil is the only way to comprehensively safeguard righteousness. Foolishness is complementary to comprehension due to the former’s bridge of the latter. I understand that my personal devotion determines my outside reception; so, I only forgive, understanding that grace ensures the nourishment of creation. Interestingly, my father bestowed on me a medallion containing a white stone immaculately engraved with a foreign inscription. To others, it is unknown; as the recipient, the engraved authoritative title is transparently transpired to my psyche.

Wisdom finds the women of creation; unfortunately, evil is not far behind. Calamity- disguised as perversion, would defile the first woman, leaving all who follow subject to the same fate. My father was immediately outraged upon his discovery of such truth. So much so, that he called upon a relative of mine, and me. I found this very disappointing, especially in my father’s land. Bargaining for an equitable outcome, calamity pleaded with my father, offering wealth and dominion over the women of creation. With knowledge of the defilement of my women, I answered calamity deceitfully. I acquiesced to the request, under the legal necessity that calamity undergo a spiritual ritual. The only ask I had was that all the men of creation be present at such ceremony. I articulated that it was only under this condition that I would allow calamity to consume the women of creation, and we would dwell together as one. Almost immediately, calamity gathered the men of creation, to prepare for their spiritual ceremony. In preparation for their ceremony, calamity embossed in the men the awareness of my presence. With my relative, the men of creation were to allow me into their land- we were even allowed to trade in it. The men of creation acquiesced and prepared for their spiritual ritual. The ceremony was beautiful, ornate with regal linen and celestial mosaics. Unfortunately, my relative and I came upon the men of creation during their most vulnerable moment in their ceremony- we killed all the men of creation. After killing the firstborn of creation, my relative and I plundered the land of creation and took the first woman out of the garden of creation and went away. I can attest to the plundering on account of the defilement of the first woman. My relative and I took all the wealth of creation; the remainder of the women and little ones of creation were taken away, and all the houses of creation, captured and plundered.

Joash said to the priests, “Collect all the money that is brought as sacred offerings to the temple of the Lord—the money collected in the census, the money received from personal vows and the money brought voluntarily to the temple. Let every priest receive the money from one of the treasurers, then use it to repair whatever damage is found in the temple.”

2 Kings 12: 4-5
