He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.

Revelation 21: 5-7

So I went and found my successor, who is the son of the priest. While he was plowing a field, they were 12 teams of ox in the field, and my successor was plowing them with the 12th team.

I went over to him and threw his cloak across his shoulders, and then walked away. My successor left the ox standing there. He ran after me and said to me, “First let me go and kiss my father and mother goodbye, and then I will go with you.” I replied, “Go on back, but think about what I have done to you.” So, my successor returned to his oxen and slaughtered them, he used the wood from the plow to build a fire to roast the flesh. He passed around the meat to the town people, and they all ate, then he went with me as my assistant.

I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.  The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
